Our Story
Why Pop the Balloon Exists in Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh has thousands of singles who are tired of dating apps but don’t have a real way to meet someone face to face. So we built a show. A real live dating show, taped here in Pittsburgh, with a studio audience, surprises, and real conversations between singles who walked in that night hoping to find someone they actually want to date.
Pop the Balloon is for the people who believe dating should be in person, that chemistry can’t be measured by a profile, and that there’s nothing more Pittsburgh than figuring it out together in front of a live crowd.

Frequently Asked Questions
01What is Pop the Balloon?
Pop the Balloon Pgh Edition is Pittsburgh's live audience dating show. Singles meet on stage in front of a live studio audience, get matched up across different themes and categories, and the whole thing gets edited and uploaded to YouTube each week.
03How do I apply to be a contestant?
Head to the Sign Up page and fill out the contestant application. We ask about who you are, what you're looking for, and which themes you'd want to be matched on. We review every application and reach out to schedule a quick chat before booking you for a taping.
04Do I have to be from Pittsburgh to apply?
Tapings happen in Pittsburgh, so you do need to be able to get to the studio on the day of your episode. Plenty of contestants travel in from the surrounding area. If you're up for the trip, you're welcome to apply.
05Can I come watch as part of the studio audience?
Yes. Studio audience seats are part of the experience and a great way to see the show in person before you decide whether to apply as a contestant. Reach out through the Contact page and let us know which upcoming taping you're interested in.
06How much does it cost to apply or attend?
Applying as a contestant is free. Studio audience tickets are handled per event, and pricing depends on the taping. The Events section on the homepage lists what's coming up and how to grab a seat.

“I came on as a contestant not knowing what to expect. Once I got on stage it felt real. No scripts, no pressure, just a chance to connect and see what happens.”
